This custom home page design has several automated components that allow it to remain fresh and require little maintenance.
We built a new site using Drupal as the content management system, with Ecommerce v.3.4.
A section specifically for the trade was created. The content is managed in the CMS by the sales guys at Barnard Griffin.
The client didn't want a link to the shopping cart always hanging around, so we built a custom cart using jQuery that appears along the top header when a customer adds an item to their basket. This keeps it unobtrusive, but still facilitates checkout for those shopping.
Customers can read about and join wine clubs online.

Project Overview:
Barnard Griffin Winery has been one of the premier Northwest wineries for the last 30 years. Working with Wines of Washington, a niche public relations firm, and Design Hovie Studios, we built a full-featured new site. It has a custom design, an integrated e-commerce solution, and a content management system that allows staff to support all aspects of the site.
A unique aspect of the project was the complex shipping and tax rules for online alcohol sales, which vary by state, county and volume, and need to be reported each month. We used Ship Compliant and did a Web Service integration during the checkout process to ensure compliance—something that would have been impossible with any hosted or packaged solution.
